Contract Management Interface
First, let’s start out with a walkthrough of the various sections available on the Contract Management interface. Please see the various numbered blocks on the screenshot below. We will follow the screenshot with more detailed descriptions of what each numbered section means:

1. Additional Options
These are the additional Contract Management options available with each contract (regardless of the contract status):
Duplicate
This option allows users to quickly create a duplicate new contract with the same terms and conditions as those currently displayed on the Contract Management screen. Clicking on this icon will lead the user to a pre-populated new contract creation screen.
View On-chain
This option allows users to monitor the status of their transaction escrow account directly on the blockchain. Clicking on this icon will prompt a separate window that brings users to their smart contract profile on the basescan.io blockchain scanner.
refresh
This button allows users to manually refresh the Contract Management screen.
2. Contract Progress Bar
The progress bar within the Contract Management interface provides a clear visual representation of each stage in the contract’s lifecycle. Users can click on each stage (or status) within the progress bar to view additional details and descriptions relevant to that phase. Positioned just above the progress bar is a countdown timer, which displays the remaining time allocated for the current stage of the contract, helping users stay on track with time-sensitive actions.
3. Available actions
This section outlines the specific action(s) required from either the buyer or the seller based on the contract’s current status. The action selected here will determine the next step in the contract or transaction process. For example, as shown in the screenshot above, during the "Deployed" stage, the buyer has two available actions: transfer the contract funds into the on-chain escrow account or cancel the contract and back out. The actions available will vary between buyers and sellers depending on the stage of the contract.
4. Communications
This is a collapsible window that enables buyers and sellers to exchange messages and stay informed throughout the contract process. The Communications window is divided into three tabs: Communications, Activity, and All. The Communications tab contains all messages and attachments shared between the buyer and seller. The Activity tab logs all systematic updates to the contract—such as status changes—with accurate timestamps. The All tab provides a unified, chronological view of both messages and activity logs. It's important to note that this area functions more like a message board rather than a real-time chat tool, so users should not expect instant responses.
5. Contract Detail
This section provides a clear, accessible view of all the terms and conditions associated with the contract. It allows users to quickly refer back to the agreed-upon details at any point during the transaction, ensuring transparency and alignment between both parties throughout the contract’s lifecycle.
