What is a Wrapped Bitcoin?

Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) is a version of Bitcoin that works on the Ethereum blockchain. It's "wrapped" so you can use Bitcoin in Ethereum apps like decentralized finance (DeFi). Each WBTC is backed 1:1 by real Bitcoin, so it always has the same value as Bitcoin.
